It's just the name of a highway. "Parkway" can be stuck at the end of basically any highway. It doesn't have to be by a park.

Really? That's news to me... I always thought "parkway" was a sort of scenic road, passing through national parks? E.G. The Blue Ridge Parkway. For our Russian readers, national parks are something like лесные заповедники and not парки -- they take up thousands (probably millions total?) of square miles.

1. Abbr. Pkwy or Pky A broad landscaped highway, often divided by a planted median strip.

Has nothing to do with any national parks or any other parks. Unless you consider a tool booth to be a park. It does have grass and trees a lot of the way though. Also I fail to see many parts that are scenic.
