Thread: Learn cursive.

Oh, surely not when you are used to writing cursive, but when you are a learner, it can be helpful. But you're right, it's up to everyone to decide for himself.

Increase coherency level by about 5 points, please. How would it be helpful for learners to intentionally write incorrectly in the beginning stages?

I can't believe that the script is taught that wrong in Germany, I've got a copy of a schoolbook for beginners used at my school and there you can see the letters linked through a hook at the bottom line.

Das muss eine Neuauflage eines Ost-Buches sein, jedenfalls ist als Verlag noch immer der Ostdeutsche angegeben.

Allerdings waren viele Russisch-Lehrer der DDR mangelhaft, so hat meine Mutter aus all den Jahren des Unterrichtes kaum Russisch behalten, aber Polnisch spricht sie noch heute so gut, dass man ihr in Polen selten abnimmt, dass sie eine Deutsche ist. Der Lehrer hatte damals ein alternatives Unterrichtskonzept angewandt, dass offensichtlich viel besser ist als die in (Gesamt-)Deutschland

Was ist eigentlich dieses alternatives Unterrichtskonzept? Und wie lernt ihr Fremdsprachen jetzt? Kann man in vielen deutschen Schulen Russisch lernen?

I want to learn Russian because it's the language of my ancestors, and I also love its sound.

I'm learning Russain, mostly because I feel it's important to know a second language. It also looks really cool.

I tried cursive just now. Bloody it looks like crap. All the letters look the same and I can't read what I wrote, even though I only wrote it 5 minutes ago. I must be doing something wrong because I doubt that was supposed to happen.

It's normal.

We had to learn how to write russian in handwritten letters from the beginning. It took me 2 weeks to learn it properly because we had to study our list of vocabulary (300 words) in our handwriting while it was written in non-cursive ones!

I think Cyrillics look so much better than cursive/script, but they are slower to write.

Sh*t. I can’t write print or cursive, only keyboard. Is there a special way to write print or do you just write them how they look on the computer?

Is there any certain way of writing Russian alphabets, certain sequence ... or it doesn't matter which line is first as long as you put them on paper.

I just sometimes find it rather awkward to write in Russian.

Пытаюсь выправить ребенку подчерк. Буква о часто неотличима от а.
Но на старости лет понял, что не знаю как при письме правильно писать и соединять букву о снизу со следующей буквой.
Кол около колокола.

Либо приходится слишком много крутить по кругу букву о или отрывать ручку, что никуда не годится.

Так водить пером не очень удобно и больно не похоже на то, как водишь пером, когда соединительная черта сверху.

Так как верно?
В третьем варианте надо еще передбуквой сообразить, что соединение будет снизу, а в первый варианте до точки 4 совпадает с вариантом черты сверху и только тут приходится соображать, куда перо вести.

А у ребенка мыслей какая соединительная черта будет не возникает до самого конца, а там деваться не куда - получаем букву а

Is it necessary to learn cursive? I am teaching myself Russian and I am wondering if there is a better way to write it. Connecting certain characters gets confusing. For example, writing химик.
