    Can you figure this one out?

    There’s something missing in this sentence. It’s incomplete or the preceding one has information that could help figure it out.
    I guess the trouble you have is mainly with intensifying да. Pretend it’s not there and read again.

    The sentence seems complete to me.

    Что нам просто (=простым) кажется - What seems easy to us,
    То нашим предкам потом да мукой досталось - [That] came to our forefathers with blood and sweat.
    In Russian, all nationalities and their corresponding languages start with a lower-case letter.
