Thread: Edward Snowden and his stay in Russia

Apparently Obama is cancelling his meeting with Putin over this, and going to....... Sweden.......... instead, during the same period.

Sweden is of course absolutely starstruck at this... You might believe it was Jesus Christ returning as you read how supposedly "significant" this meeting is, and how interested Obama is in Sweden (yeah RIGHT!!!! Hopefully he knows roughly where on the map to find it, and realises it's not the same country as Switzerland.) This Nobel peace price winner who is fighting multiple wars at any time and sends drones to kill citizens in allied countries.

I'd much rather he was barred from entry. Or why not arrest him for war crimes against humanity?
The Africans who booed him in South Africa had the right idea.
But no doubt the King will wine, dine and attempt to dazzle him.

This culminates Swedens transformation from radical, idealistic left wingers under Palme (who got shot under mysterious circumstances) and 22 years of washing its hands of socialism, arse-licking a certain large country to the West, and attempting to provoke a certain other neighbour to the East.... (Carl Bildt who has been in various government posts since then, is behind that policy ) I can't believe what the country's come to. The FRA law, about spying on Russia's internet traffic which passes through Sweden.... The parody of the Julian Assange trial..... replacing struggle for social justice with politically correct fascism..... Allowing America's torture flights and capturing people's fingerprints when they get a passport and allowing the USA access to the fingerprint database.

I don't recognise the country I was born in anymore. There is essentially nothing left of what used to be good. Social safety and equality is dismantled and sold out. The holy neutrality is a parady. as Swedish troops fights with NATO in Afghanistan.

So Sweden's been licking the arse for +20 years, and sold out all the values that people were brought up to believe in. And is finally "rewarded" with this visit. Grabbing it from Russia which did the RIGHT thing in allowing Snowden asylum.

This Obama visit is a culmination about everything I dislike.
I hope there are enough rotten eggs around, and that someone can aim well.

Hanna, without judging your argument either way, the 'Africans in South Africa' booed him for different reasons. They do not care much about Snowden / NSA etc. A fairly large section of the population in South Africa simply dislikes the USA for its perceived bullying and double standards around the globe - this has historical roots and Obama would have been booed anyway - NSA/Snowden/Prism or not.
