I believe this question was asked at least twice in this forum.
It is reasonable Bob that anything unusual for foreigners to attract attention. This rule is not based on logic but rather to a caprice of the builders of the Russian language who were trying to differentiate their language from other languages.

P.S. Today I wanted to say to a russian friend: "we must ask a company that brings cars from England". It is impossible for me to believe that you Russians have a secret advanced intellectual mechanism in your head that helps you to decide in less than half second that:
1. the correct verb from the three verbs representing the word bring (принести привести привезти :приносить приводить привозить ) is the привезти / привозить.
2. Then to decide that it is the несовершенный вид that you should use because the company does this regularly.
3. And finally that you want the third person: привозит
Based on this I think that it is impossible for me to learn correct Russian in less than 6 - 7 years.
I know that the answer is simple: Some sentences you repeat them so many times that you don't even bother to think of their structure. For me is as if I am trying to solve complicated mathematical exercises in my head all the time
