Thread: What's the point of the Russian Tourist Invitation ?

Yesterday I saw an attractive blonde woman with blue eyes coming out of my neighbours flat. I immediately though "Polish"

1. Because she was the cleaner.
2. Because there are like hundreds of thousands of poles in London.

And another day I heard her talking Polish, so I was right. I gave myself a prize.

I can spot Russians in London. There are certain things that give it away, often with women it's the way they are dressed. Alsot here is hair colours (I mean dyed hair colours and styles) and some people just look Russian.

For some reason like 90% of the Russians here are Jews.

At one time I, myself, used to live on Cape Cod. (in Falmouth) There were no Russians there then. (except for the odd lost fishing boat, when the Rusian crew could be seen wandering around the supermarket in Woods Hole, squweezing loaves of bread to check whether the Wonderbread was really bread or not!)

They may have been crew from a Russian Research Vessel during a layover / provisioning stop in Woods Hole at the Oceanographic Institute. There are a few Russian scientists there and a 'Russian club' that has informal meetings and shows a movie 1-2 times a month. Unfortunately it's an hour drive each way under the best circumstances and I always run into someone that wants to 'talk shop' about something I can't talk about.
