Well, if calling bl... eh-eh... African-Americans "blacks" is not politically correct, calling whites "whites" is not politically correct either, right? Somebody (I knew his name, I forgot) came up with a theory that all whites originate from Caucasus (which is doubtful) and suggested to call whites "Caucasians".

Shouldn't we be called caucasian-american then? I don't think african-americans would appreciate it very much if we simply called them african. Of course I've never met a white person that had a problem with the term white, PC or not.

But then you run into stumpers like, what do you call the English/Dutch/whatever European country-Africans? In my college dorm, it was kind of funny that we had as many "black" "african-americans" as we did "white" "african-americans" (2).

Couple of months after we came to US one African-American lady asked my wife whether there were many African-Americans in Russia. My wife answered that there were very few Americans leaving alone African-Americans in Russia. They clearly didn't understand each other.
