    It's probably Риктеров or Рихтеров. It's probably a Jewish name.

    Во-первых, потому что вопрос совсем о другой фамилии, поэтому вообще не понятно, о чем xRoosterx говорит.
    Во-вторых, я бы сказала "Я знал человека по фамилии Ражитов".

    Просто Рустерсу хотелось хоть что-то ответить.) И он написал, что эту фамилию не видел, зато видел другую, похожую. Да, неуместно. Как неуместно, например, было напоминание о "Шкоде" там, где я про слово SKOGA спрашивала. Но и не совсем непонятно. ИМХО.

    Sorry about not being specific but that is my family name and I was wondering if anyone knew about it being Russian or if it's a common name stuff like that because I don't know very much about it.

    My cousin's last name is "Richterova".
    But this is because she is living in Czech Republic for a long time.
    (May be this Richterova is Czech too?)
