Интересно, начнет ли он сразу выгружать продукты на кухню или все-таки сообразит зайти и доложиться.

доложиться - ??
все-таки - the dictionary says all the same...

доложиться is announcing one's arrival.

I think it's something like:

It's interesting whether he'll start to unload the produce into the kitchen right away, or come in and announce their arrival.

Да. Или realize.

Доложиться - another good translation is "to report, to present himself". The beauty of "to report" is that it covers both зайти и доложиться. When your report (for duty, etc.), you usually enter a room, don't you? Also, you may have to supply an object here - report to whom?

And "интересно" of course is more "I wonder" than "it's interesting", but you knew that.

I wonder if he ...blah-blah... or realizes that he ought to report to me first.

Personally, I have always been dying to find out how to translate все-таки

yes всё-таки can mean different things depending on the context...

In this context maybe "nevertheless" is a useable translation?

I wonder if he will immediately unload the groceries in the kitchen, or if he will nevertheless report himself...

I hate всё-таки

I subscribe to the theory (I also invented it) that in most cases it is not necessary to translate все-таки. This is one of them. Just use the right words to convey the slightly-ironic, slightly-irritated tone of the original.

That's why I suggested "realize" and "report".

всё-таки can also mean: anyway, after all; or it could be just an enhancer.

Ты всё-таки пришел! - You have come after all!

Какой-же ты всё-таки жадный! How stingy are you!

Я всё-таки посмотрю этот фильм. - I'll watch this movie, anyway.
