You don't like that sentence, because заниматься doesn't govern a noun in the instrumental?
Yes, exactly. I know it's 100% grammatically correct, but I'm not fond of phrasing things like that myself. I'm odd; don't worry about it. :P
But you often have to phrase stuff like that.

из дому (the stress is on the preposition)
    or из дому

He has been appointed (a?) judge

Both are correct. "На скамeйку" (acc.) is better here.

No. They were (where?) - in the museum.
If you say "Они посетили музей" (lit. "they visited the museum") - yes, in this case it's accusative.
In Russian, all nationalities and their corresponding languages start with a lower-case letter.

Am a little confused. Both побывали и посетили also mean "to visit", thus indication there is sense of movement => accusative? Or is it посетили governs the a/c case whereas побывали does not?
Sorry for asking what must be a very straight forward to you. Thanks.

Don't say "sorry", it's absolutely ok.

Yes, the verb посетить governs the accusative case, because it's transitive.
But you can't use the verb побывать without a preposition (в, у, на, возле, etc.). The verb is intransitive.

    So:
Мы посетили музей (sounds rather formal, by the way)
Мы побывали в музее (sounds quite common and natural).

Мы посетили - что? - музей.
    Мы побывали - где? - в музее.
