It is unclear how to translate into English or Russian the word "master". As a matter of fact the punnishment was called "Transportation". His sentence was "14 years Transportation" they let him out in 10 though. My dictionary defines сослан as exile when in reality he was also flogged and kept in a small box for 6 months.

So, you can say "он был транспортирован" too, but it will sound unclear

I think хозяин is the best word for "master". It has a wide range of meanings. Владелец is closer to the word "owner"

You translated "punished" and "ordered" in active voice (наказал, приказал), but it's actually "he was punished, he was ordered" -> он был наказан, он был отправлен
