Thread: Are there any mistakes or errors...?

Hi guys. After the suggestion of this forum, I attempted to translate my opening page of my site into Russian. Would people be able to have a read and see if there are any errors, and if there are could people make clear what to replace it with.

here is the english version:

Не возьмусь переводить, там много, а я к тому же плохо знаком с современной компьютерной лексикой. Но плохо там, совсем не по-русски.

well I am only a student so I really cant afford to pay. All I would like are glaring errors, it doesn't have to be *perfect* just if there are any problems that someone could spot it would help me out?

Anyhow, that's my stab at it. I'm not too up-to-speed on computer jargon myself, but I chose the words that sounded best to me. I'm sure it'll need revision, but at least it's better.

Moryachka, some corrections, concerning the word choice:
community - сообщество
tutorial - учебное пособие
email updates - рассылка обновлений (сайта)

...информация, охватывающая огромный ряд технических тем. ...

Наверное "обширный" здесь будет лучше.

Hi. A white paper is similar to an ebook, it is usually a proffesional looking document in a pdf file. If you could have a look at one of the whitepapers on the site to see if there is a translation for it?

Yes, I think I got it, I would say "Статьи в pdf формате".

Wow, thank you very much. I havent had chance to change the last few parts as I am not at University any more, and the Russian text doesn't work...although I will change it from Saturday.

I am trying to get as many Russian visitors as possible to the site, does anyone know any sites etc where I couldadvertise the site? If I am getting enough visitors then I will add a section for Russian to the forums or on request.

Does anyone know anywhere?
