    please translate this song

I wanted to translate a few songs from englsh to russian and I bought the Pimsluer and currently learning but am not quiet confident that I will do a good job.

if you could hie to "Kolob"(name)in a twinkling of an eye,
and then continue onward with that same speed to fly,
do you think that you could ever throught all eternity,
find the generation where gods began to be.

if your LDS you'll know this song, thankyou for all the help so far thats has been given even if your arnt lds your help is much appriecated

here is how the webiste i used translated it.

если Вы могли бы спешить к колоб в мгновение ока глаза,
и затем продолжать вперед с той той же самой скоростью лететь,
Вы думаете, что Вы могли когда-либо через всю вечность,
узнают поколения, где боги начали быть?

Good job! Tricky lyrics though... Just a few corrections:

если Вы могли бы домчаться к колобу вo мгновение ока,

I replace your "спешить" by the similar verb in perfective form. And you don't need "глаз" after "ока" because they are synonyms

и затем продолжать лететь вперед с той той же самой скоростью,

    Just the order of words

Как вы думаете, могли бы вы когда-либо, спустя вечность,

The difficult subjunctive question with a "бы" particle. Usually we say "спустя" considering any time interval, including eternity.

    Найти поколение, где появились боги?

"to find"="найти", and we don't say "начали быть", but "появились" or "возникли".

You definitely have to start with some textbooks. Translating poetry is the most difficult task even for an experiensed translator, I think. May be you better start with some prose?

Pimsleur makes the best Ive seen but you definatey need books AND CD's. I suggest starting with Pimsleur for a couple of months and then opening your copy of New Penguin and continuing with both at the same time.
