    Please Translate Letter

Hello, Can someone please translate this into Russian, and then another edit the translation?
Soon I will learn Russian, and be able to translate these letters myself. For now, I still need help.

Thanks to all those who constantly translate and edit my letters!!

    Dear Grandma,

We would like to begin by apologizing for our prolonged absence. The silence has harbored guilt in our hearts.

We have been doing well. We finished University at the end of April, and now we are working. We are relieved that we are finished our second year—it seems like just yesterday that we began. University was very stressful and we were very busy, but now we have time to rest after work and on the weekends, which is a big relief. I, Oleg, am working at the same company as Dad, as an engineering assistant to one of his co-workers. Lisa is working at the University with her professor, and she is doing astronomy research with him. We are both gaining good experience for our future careers, and we are enjoying ourselves at work, which keeps us and the people around us happy.

When Mom and Dad came back from Ukraine, they showed us the pictures right away. We were really glad to see Mom and her two brothers, Zhenia and Sasha, back together again. It was nice that they could have a reunion after being apart for so many years, even if only for a short time. You must have been really happy!

We hope you have been doing well. For you, we wish happiness, love, health, and joy. Always remember that your family in Canada loves you!

Please say ‘Hello’ to Lena, Sasha, and all the others.

    Loving and remembering you,
    Lisa and Oleg

    My variant :

Well, I don't know what to say. I want to say thanks to the Academy, to Mama, to Papa and to my dog. I love you all.

    It makes no sense.

Love.angel, Lampada's variant is good. Only not "Вам не писали", but "тебе не писали" (in this context).

I have a question, please. Can someone explain something regarding the translation of this sentence?

"Было бы здорово, если бы мы могли снова воссоединиться после столь долгих лет разлуки, даже на короткий срок."

My very limited knowledge of Russian would have me translate it as "It would be nice if we could again re-unite after years of separation".

But the sentence was, " It was nice blah blah blah...." which meant that it happened. So wouldn't it be "Было здорово блах блах блах...?"

Since бы is the unconditional, doesn't this indicates that the reunion didn't happened? Only that it would be nice if it did?

    Absolutely right.
Please, correct my mistakes, except for the cases I misspell something on purpose!

You are right. "Славно, что они смогли встретиться, бла-бла-бла"

    Since бы is the __conditional

бы marks the subjunctive mood of verbs and indicates nonreal actions (that did or will not happen). The other moods are indicative and imperative (commands).

"Было здорово блах блах блах...?" is correct.
