Thread: help translating an extract from an interview please

I've been looking at an interview that concerns my football team. I can get the gist of most of it but this one paragraph confuses me. Sorry if it's quite long.

Ведь Слава находится сейчас в игровом тонусе, а футболистам клуба предстоит в Эдинбурге после каникул еще только втягивающий период, который продлится около десяти дней. А вот когда затем “Хартс” отправится на сбор в Германию, Глеб присоединится к новой команде.

I'm not quite sure if he is saying that the player will come to Scotland on the 23rd or whether he is saying that he wont come then but will only join up with the team later when they are in Germany.

If someone could translate this I would be most grateful.

ok, this is how I would do it:

"At the very least he'll spend the preseason with the team. Although, there's no point in him flying to Scotland to 23rd of June when Hearts players just return from holidays. Slava is in good playing form now while Hearts players will be building up fitness in Edinburgh for about 10 days. But when they leave for pre-season training in Germany Hleb will join the new team."

would you generally agree with that?

No point to go by the 23th of June, since he's in perfect shape while the team needs more exercise. When they finish it he'll join the team.

He'll be present at the team's base during the off-season at least. Though, there's not much of a point for him to fly to Scotland by June, 23th when the Hearts will have just returned from their leave. Slava is fit to play, after all and the footballers of the club are ought to undergo an accustoming period which will last for about ten days. But when the Hearts will depart for training to Germany, Gleb will join the new team.
