    yes, having been born and raised in southern california, there are three accents there: valley, surfer, and everyone else.

    Good evening to everybody, (i will introduce myself here as long as I didn't find an introduction thread)
    I'm really glad I found this forum. I started learning russian 2 years ago in a class (4h/week) and I hope I will go on learning this wonderful language.
    I'm native in greek, eloquent in english and intermediate in french.
    Personally, I've noticed that it is easy for a person who knows greek to learn russian, due to many common grammar structures. I think russian is not as difficult as many non-russian speakers tend to think. What's your opinion on this? Of course many will disagree but this is the opinion that derives from my personal experience and may change in the future!

    Learning Russian is a personal experience and therefore the difficulty level is different for everybody. I can believe you when you say it is easier for Greeks, because of the similar language structure, but I wouldn't know since I don't speak Greek.
