There are plenty of jokes around traditional proverbs. For example the proverb:
Лучше быть бедным, но здоровым, чем богатым, но больным (It's better to be poor but healthy, than rich but sick) often changes to
Лучше быть богатым и здоровым, чем бедным и больным (It's better to be reach and healthy than poor and sick) - captain Obvious at all it's best.
Or a proverb formed from mixing these two:
Не плюй в колодец - пригодится воды напиться. (Don't spit into a well - you will need it later to qwench your thirst)
Слово не воробей, вылетит - не поймаешь. (A word is not a sparrow - once it flies out, you won't catch it; English analog: the word spoken is past recalling).
In result we get:
