FYI - fish is plural, as in a shoal of fish, and it also singular.

So more than one crayfish, is "many crayfish", rather than crayfishes.

They have 2 claws and 8 legs. A pincer is what the claw is. The cheliped is the "arm" part, which ends in a claw.

    Hope that clears it up.

Maybe you mean a school of fish.
Какая разница, умереть богатым или бедным?

Какой толк от богатства если ты не счастлив.

no, I meant shoal - shoal being the derivative of school (greek skhole or latin scolu), applying to fish alone (I thought it would be less confusing)

I never heard of "shoal" in reference to fish. Must be a Brit thing.

    Thanks as usual, Dimitri!

PS: I'm English, and have certainly heard "shoal".

2, answered, claws implies something larger like on a North Atlantic lobster
3, anything to do with food
I don't really agree on two.

A pincer is a specific thing, describing that shape. Like they also use it in expressions like "a pincer movement", which means to approach/attack from both sides.

A claw can be any number of things.

    Claws / pinchers
I didn't even have to google these, I had them in my favorites. I have a few lobster traps in the bay.

I always forget that turning to "с". I made up "меткить", too, heh. I just knew "label" (n.). Gracias.

    "Pincer" has serveral meanings.

It is a rare word and I would not waste my time learning it. Oops, too late. It is already permanently burned into my brain and taking up valuble space that could be used to learn more important things.

The brain is capable of a whole heck of a lot more than can be comfortably imagined....

What? I wouldn't say it was that rare. I know of much rarer. Forsooth!
