I just spotted a headline on the BBC that reads
Russian pressure 'saved Karadzic'
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/6986858.stm
What's odd, is that when I read it earlier today, I could have sworn it said something different.
So I Googled it, and lo' and behold, Google finds the following two pages on the BBC:
Russia-US deal 'saved Karadzic'
and even older:
Russia-US deal 'helped Karadzic'
Lookee here
Of course, both of them link to the first story above, suggesting that during the course of a few hours someone at the BBC decided both to make the case sound a bit stronger ("sex it up a bit"?), and to shift the blame from a Russia-US deal to making it entirely Russia's fault.
Unfortunately, Google doesn't have the earlier versions cached, so I can't check whether they massaged the content of the article into something more on-message in the same way that they massaged the tone of the headline.
