    волк has said it right.

TATY, I'm sorry, I used the word "transliteration" in the wrong way-- but my key point of wanting a pronounciation was there, so you don't have to ignore it and only focus on the literal meaning of my sentence.

I just think it's better that, before you start trying to learn stuff, to get the alphabet 100%. Using English phonetic renderings lead to problems in the future. Also if you need the phonetic renderings, it must mean you are at least a bit slow and shakey on Cyrillic, but you won't overcome this very quickly unless you ditch the English letters.

I may sound rude, but I am actually trying to help

Maybe you should get some people to record themselves saying words you know to get the hang of pronounciation, if you don't have personal access to a native speaker in real life.

What is the keyboard shortcut for the Russian letters?
I installed it almost a year ago, but didn't use it for a while until recently when I joined this forum. So now I forgot what it is, and everytime I want to write with Russian letters I have to sit there with "Character Map" forever choosing symbols one at a time.

My main assumption: All keyboard shortcuts for Russian letters are the same.

    If not,
Can you tell me a good one to download? I just downloaded a new one but it's missing some main letters... like a, d, etc. ???

    LOL

TATY, it probably sounds rude to new people on the forum or very sensitive people, others got used to it I guess.

How are the words like ты, вы transliterated in the Latin alphabet? Ty, vy. If you are a beginner in Russian, you will perhaps remember that ты is pronounced as тай and vy as вай, like the English word "by" is pronounced.

No... none of them work. I guess it was mysteriously uninstalled. Do you know of any good ones (which are free)?

Usually Ty and Vy, or less commonly Ti and Vi.

Most likely people will say Ти and Ви.

If you can't find the place to fiddle with the settings, here's the most direct way imaginable:

    1. Start -> Run (or Windows key + R)
    2. Copy this into the box and press enter:

    "C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe" shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL input.dll

Then you want the little button near the bottom that says "key settings":

    Pretty self-explanatory after that.

It's good for secret letters and stuff. When I kept a journal, I was really worried about my parents reading it, so I used to write it in English, but with Cyrillic.
