употреблять
The first thing that springs to ming is taking medicine, or doing drags:
Употреблять три раза в день после еды.
Он не употребляет наркотиков.
Он не употребляет. (more often then not, it would be a little bit humorous way of saying "he doesn't drink alcohol")

With medicine, though, there is a better word - принимать:
Принимать три раза в день после еды.
Я принимаю аспирин. (not "употребляю")

There is also a set expression "власть употребить". It's from басня Крылова. Nowadays it sounds unusual. It's "использовать власть" in modern language.
