First of all, a comma in Russian is used as a decimal point in American and modern British texts. So if you want to use a separator, you may use a space (1 154).
Otherwise there are not so many mistakes. Only a number "тысяча" in Instrumental will be "тысячью". "Тысячей" is instrumental of a NOUN "тысяча" ("А thousand" as a whole thing).
Only it is a waste of time, because even many native Russian speakers cannot decline long numerals, especially TV speakers, Duma (Parliament) members, state ministers and officials. If you want to be one of them, try to forget all this.

I though тысяча was declined as a noun...thats what i heard. and i got that declension from my book.

But what if a person wants to say:

I live with one million six hundred thousand sevenhundred and sixty three people. How would they get that across without declining it?

    Как? Да очень просто:
Я живу с ээээ .... (looking carefully in the piece of paper...) "миллион шыссот тысяч... ээээ... семьсот шисят тремя (or sometimes even три)" человеками.

I think, if you mean "a thousand" (like "a dozen"), then it is a noun. Take, for example, an old war unit of thousand soldiers. "Я дам тебе тысячу воинов, -- сказал Александр Македонский своему полководцу. -- С этой тысячей ты должен к завтрашнему утру взять город."
Otherwise, especially in mathematical texts and in case of long numerals, it is a numeral.
