Hi, I am just trying to translate a random sentence I found online.

Если путешественник откажется показать свои письма, ему могут отказать в посещении страны

OK is this right and also I am unsure of the cases.

if the traveller refuses to show his letters they may refuse him entry into the country. Right?

I am unsure on why страна is страны and not страну.

ему могут отказать в посещении [чего?] странЫ - genetive
ему могут отказать посетить [что?] странУ - accusative
[что?] странА закрыта для него - nominative
он предан этой [чему?] странЕ - dative
он восхищен [чем?] странОЙ- instrumental
он слышал о [о чем?] странЕ - prepositional

посещение страны (Genitive) человеком (Instrumental) = visit of the person to a country. That is the way we speak.

JamarriJa, "check questions" can help native Russian schoolchildren to identify grammatical cases by their names but can't help a foreigner, who can't use cases intuitively, to select the correct case.
