    dative + infinitive

When is the dative + infinitive-verb construction used?

For example только мне по**ать на его причитания.
    исправьте мои ошибки :P

It has a number of idiomatic meanings - for example, the one you just mentioned means roughly "I don't give a ---- about..."

This construction is most often used like the English "should" or "supposed to" for example: куда мне идти - "where should I go/ where am I supposed to go"
что нам делать - "what should we do" or "what are we to do"
