Thread: Complex sentence

If i wanted to say:

I am thinking about giving him a cake.

Is this how it would be?

я думаю о том, что я дал ему торт.

I just get those tricky little constructions sometimes...

Я думаю о том("о том" можно не говорить) , дать ли ему торт

Thanks! That seems like how you would say "I am thinking about whether or not to give him a cake." What would it be if I were thinking about the general process of giving him a cake?

Gramatically correct would be :

я думаю о выдаче ему торта.

however выдачаsounds very serious and official with the word "cake". Those sentenses sounds good:

Террористы думают о выдаче заложника.
Правительтсво думает о выдаче оружия населению.

Variants:
Я думаю о том, как дать ему торт.
Я думаю о том, как я дам ему торт.
Я думаю о том, как буду давать ему торт. (here you emphasize that the process is continious)
Я думаю о том, как бы дать ему торт. (this one implies that you want to find a convenient way of giving him a pie because there are some obstacles, like there's a chance he won't accept it, etc)
