Also много is used with passive verbs…
На собрание было много руководителей
There were a lot of ‘team leaders’ (‘supervisors’) at the meeting.
Многие – Used with verbs denoting action, like speaking?
"Многие руководителей говорили по-русски"
Many (a considerable proportion of the) supervisors were speaking in Russian.
Это правда?

What I really like about Russian is its unfailing logic. In England it is common to say, "I don't think I understand". In Russian I must say, "I think that I do not understand". The latter seems to me to be logically correct and the former incorrect
