    В таком контексте:
То была эпоха настоящих подонков и настоящих мужчин. Подонки никуда не делись, но где теперь настоящие мужчины?

There was an age of real scoundrels and real gentlemen. The scoundrels are still here, but where have all the gentlemen gone?

I can also suggest the words " the scum" and "assholes"

    Why "gentlemen" not just "men"?

"Gentlemen" is used to show how nice the are, so "Real scoundrels" and "Gentlemen" are basically polar opposites.

Thanks you all, real gentlemen and Gerty
Just I didn't know English offensive words except for the well-know four-letter word and the word "bastard".

Yes, I meant obscene words. Should not it be Foreign Language 101 to learn all the possible profanities and their combinations? It is a scientifically proven fact that with very little of explicit vocabulary one can go far. I'll get a boot if I keep it up .
