I read a book about making food.
Я читал книгу о приготовлении пищи.

On Thursday I will buy three hats.
В четверг я куплю три шапки

Please, tell me when I can buy skis.
Пожалуйста, расскажи(те) мне, когда я смогу купить лыжи.

They are writing him a letter.
Они пишут ему письмо

Thanks for the corrections, but they really don't mean anything to me unless you also include why my version is wrong and yours is correct.

Most of the errors are obvious, why don't you rather ask which corrections you don't understand?

I read a book about making food.
Я прочитал книгу о готовить еде.
"Прочитать" means that you read it and finished the book, "читать" is just that you were reading it. "готовить" is a verb. You can't say "о готовить" even though in english it is "about making" and making is a verb. In russian you write the noun. Еде shouldn't be written like this. "To prepare food"- "Готовить еду".

В четверг я покупаю три шапкы
"покупаю" means you are buying it at the moment. "Шапки" is right because after к you cannot put ы.

Please, gitell me when I can buy skis.
Пожалуйста, Сказай меня где, я можно купить лыжи.
"Сказай" is just incorrect, correct is "Скажите". and after this word you put "Мне."
You can say: Скажите, пожалуйста, где можно купить лыжи?

Они ему пишут письмо
"Они пишут ему письмо" just sounds better.

Пожалуйста скажите мне разницу между рассказать и сказать?
They are both perfective verbs meaning "to tell".

I think the difference is that сказать is to tell somebody something specific. While рассказать is to tell with alot of detail

Я сказал ему где можно купить водку. I told him where to buy vodka (ie location)
Я рассказал ему где можно купить водку. I told him were to buy vodka (ie directions)

It's means 'in order to' / 'to'

When you want someone else to do something you use чтобы + past.

Я хочу, чтобы он мнe сказал его секреты

Be carefull, this is a dodgey verb:
Покупать = IMPERFECTIVE
Купить = PERFECTIVE

Usually the verb with the По- is the perfective.

Я хочу, чтобы он меня сказал его секреты
I want him to tell me his secrets

Я хочу, чтобы он рассказывал мне свои секреты(его секреты)

Direct translation would be: Когда я смогу съесть свой ужин? But it sounds really foreign. I'd say: Когда ужин будет готов? Or: Когда мы будем ужинать?

Мы с тобой идём в магазин купить хлеб. (или: идём в магазин за хлебом.) You can even ommit "магазин". It's usually obvious where you go to buy bread.

Я попросил его пойти на почту и отправить письмо (или: чтобы отправить письмо). You want to use possesive pronoun here only if it really matters whose letter it is. You can say, "Я сказал ему пойти на почту...", but it sounds like you ordered him/her to go there. If you do have such power over this person (let's say, s/he is your child, or you're his/her boss) you can say so, otherwise it sounds a bit rude.

Is "music" in the accustive case there? Why not dative?

Yes. It's accusative case.

Мы слушаем музыку.
Subject = "We"
Verb = "listen to"
Direct object = "music"

In 23. & 24. the word 'are' is contained within the Russian verbs.

I fixed them. I also removed all the prepostitions and used the nominative form of the pronouns - just to make it a bit harder.
If I say "to him", then I kinda give the answer away so I just say "he" and let you guys figure it out.
