Thread: Tattoo translation

My cousin has a tattoo on his right arm. Im wondering what it means. I only got a glimpse at it but I think it read something like this.

He gave me a rough translation but Im still confused about what it means.

честь в войне
жертва конфликта
выживание в невзгодах

I was thinking about getting a similar tattoo, but does this make sense, or could it be written in a better way.

жертва конфликта - a victim of the conflict
выживание в невзгодах - survival through misery/rigours

I advise to rethink a bit. Those are rather dubious and questionable

I strongly recommend you don't use "жертва конфликта" as a tattoo. :P It's extremely weird, especially if you are not (a victim, that is).
The rest is slightly better, but... I don't know. It's too long, it looks random, it doesn't sound too clever or wise.

A single saying you like translated into Russian would be much better than this string of consciousness, imho.

After looking through the dictionary this morning, I realized what it said and it doesnt make much sense.

I think that maybe one like

service, sacrifice, survival

would work much better

The word жертва in this particular construction means exactly that - a victim.
