    song translation

Does anyone remember the song "somewhere out there" from An American Tail? (cartoon mouse movie)

I would like to find the lyrics translated into Russian, or even an audio version sung in Russian

    can anyone help me?

I'm just a humble yank trying to impress a beautiful Russian girl

    Bloody yanks.

That reminds me of somthing that happened in London during WWII, there where all these yanks and poms (British people) in a theater watching the movie bambi, and theres a bit in that move where bambi's getting pissed off because it can't find it's mum, and it goes, oh wheres my mummy, and then from the back of the theater in a strong british accent some one yell out, "She's gone out with a bloody yank".

Why do yanks have to go out with everyone elses girls? Is there somthing wrong with American girls or somthing?

Now z80, let's calm down a bit. I don't think capnwinky is trying to steal her away from anybody. He just wanted to impress a girl.

In the US, we think just the opposite!!! Here's lyrics from a song by Too Much Joy:

all the girls in the music biz
have credit cards they subscribe to ms.
but they only want to @@@
    long haired guys from england

there's this girl at my record company
i dig her but she doesn't like me
i met her boyfriend the other night
he had a pony tail and he didn't talk right

he was a long haired guy from england
long haired guy from united kingdom

all the girls in this here bar
will treat you like you're a star
don't get excited it's just luck
they'll ignore you if the guy from the cult shows up

'cause he's a long haired guy from england
long haired guy from united kingdom

    i'm getting on an aeroplane
going someplace where the girls are sane
i bet in london i could get a date
'cause i'm a short haired guy from the united states

i'm not a long haired guy from england
long haired guy from united kingdom

that's the end of this here song
it's about as short as my hair is long
so i'm getting on my motorbike
going someplace where the girls don't like

    longhaired guys from england
long haired guy from united kingdom

Oh well, I guess it comes from mans desire to explore the unknown. I would asume the same applies to females.

I guess it can't be a bad thing then, in a few tens of thousands of years may be there won't be any race any more cause with all the inter breading we'll all look the same.

    If we last that long.

I think it would be near impossible to translate this song into Russian for the purposes of singing it. Russian words in general are longer than English ones. The tone wouldn't match the music anymore.
