    Simple phrase, E-->R

    "King of the whole world"

    I was very capable of looking up the three required words:

    король
    весь
    мир

    However, having not studied Russian (at least not yet) I can't apply the genitive case. Thanks to anyone who helps.

    Король всего мира.
    "Happy new year, happy new year
    May we all have a vision now and then
    Of a world where every neighbour is a friend"

    d00d, good on you for using a dictonary and knowing that the genitive case is required. Way too many people have no reference or linguistic skills whatsoever. If you decide to study Russian, I wish you all luck.

    Спасибо, Friendy.

    Well, I can speak German and basic Hebrew. I've always liked languages and want to minor in one (or have a double major). Slavic languages seem very interesting.

    If this is a quote from the Bible, then perhaps "Царь всей земли" (the tsar of the whole earth) would fit better. If the king is an ancient king, then "царь" sounds more correct - "король" usually refers to European monarchs A.D.

    "Царь всея Руси" пока ещё не царь всей земли.
