    Room

    Could someone verify my translations?

I have a small bedroom with a big bed.
(or should it be постелью, does it matter? What's the difference?)

That desk is as ugly as the bookcase.

The furniture is not comfortable and it is broken.

    The stereo is quite pretty.
(Is there a shorter way of saying stereo? All I could find was stereo system. )

    What does he look like?
    ?????

    What do they look like?
    ?????

    He has short (long) hair.

She has blond (red, gray) hair.

He is bald with blue (green, brown, hazel) eyes.

    He wears glasses.
    ?????

This is my cousin, she has a pet cat.

    My desk is old (new).

    Thanks

    Re: Room

(or should it be постелью, does it matter? What's the difference?)
    That's right!
Кровать means "bed" as a furniture, постель mostly means "bed linen" (including bed sheet, coverlid, pillow etc.). So, кровать is suitable here.

That desk is as ugly as the bookcase.

But, "уродливый" implies very negative emotions, it means something is looking awfully or terribly. It's better to use a less emotional word such as "страшный" here. So, let's say:

The furniture is not comfortable and it is broken.
(be sure of the comma here) or:
(without a comma)

    The stereo is quite pretty.
(Is there a shorter way of saying stereo? All I could find was stereo system. )
Your translation is good. As for the shorter way, I am not sure... Maybe somebody else knows?

    What does he look like?
    ?????

    What do they look like?
    ?????

    He has short (long) hair.
    Right!

She has blond (red, gray) hair.

Don't use "есть" when speaking about parts of body, and when something biologically belongs to someone.

When talking about hair, say "рыжий", not "красный", because "красные волосы" is understood as they are painted red (like the color of blood, or something like this).

He is bald with blue (green, brown, hazel) eyes.
Not "лисый", but "лысый". "Hazel" is "карий", so, let's say "с карими глазами".

    He wears glasses.
    ?????

This is my cousin, she has a pet cat.

The cat is not an organic part of your cousin, is it? So, it's better to use "есть" here. However, that's not a real error.

    My desk is old (new).
    Right!

Постель is more abstract thing than кровать. It's just a place for dreaming without size and form. IMHO

For stereo system you can use “стереосистема.” This word was used 10-20 years ago but now it seems outdated. I don't think anybody use it now. People prefer exact meanings like “магнитофон”, “музыкальный центр”
