Very good explanations, Dogboy, only "я схожу" doesn't necessarily (though often) implies quickness, it's the same as you wrote for "я сходил" only in reference to the future.

You are right, of course. So here are some идти/ехать counterparts:
иду- еду (1st person sing)
шёл - ехал (masculine sing)
ушёл - уехал (masculine sing; infinitive: уйти - уехать)
пойду - поеду (1st person sing; infinitive: пойти - поехать)
пошёл - поехал (masculine sing)
уйду - уеду (1st person sing)

"идти" is used when you go on foot and "ехать" only when you are using some kind of transport.

. I know you often correct me with this. I don't know why but i still prefer to just put С before it to show perfective, even though u don't really need too. Probly cuz im still learning, and it helps to have something realiable, i dont know.
