    Not at all, Valda. The Ukrainian spelling is much easier than the Russian one. No vowel reduction at all! You can write them just like you hear. The consonants are reduced, though. Besides, they use double consonants only when they sound that way. In Russian we have to memorize all those words with double consonants in which we hear only one. Классный, поддержать, восстановить, искусство, одиннадцать. Thousands of them, I think.

    I believe that Ukrainian-speaking person who never had a practice of Russian grammar will do some errors. But such person is a rare phenomenon in Ukraine (where most texts are issued in Russian), maybe you can find some in Canada. I don't have the idea where you got info abut such a "fame".

    Maybe you mean that Ukrainian or mixed Russian-Ukrainian speech (and pronunciation) often sounds funny and "provincial" for a native Russian speaker, but it has nothing to do with spelling.
    "Россия для русских" - это неправильно. Остальные-то чем лучше?
