Thread: Please help me to translate these lines into English...

HI... I'm a Hungarian girl studying in Italy... I try to translate Russian poems into Italian... It's really difficult...
I need your help to understand the meaning of these lines:

1)
Встали бы в рост на поляне! Вышли в атаку бы, что ли.
Мы бы рванулись навстречу, штык вынося на весу.

2)
И потому,
однажды вспомнив это,
Мы станем пить у шумного стола
За балерину из кордебалета,
Которая по жизни нас вела.

3)
Да что там имена!
Ведь все равно - вы с нами!..

4)
рядами -
Живые с мертвыми: для славы мертвых нет.

5)
И та, что сегодня прощается с милым,-
Пусть боль свою в силу она переплавит.

6)
О том, чтоб не прощала, не щадила,
чтоб мстила, мстила, мстила, как могу,
ко мне взывает братская могила
на охтенском, на правом берегу.

7)
не покидали хрупких наших вышек,
лопату сжав немеющей рукой.


И не хвалюсь я тем, что в дни блокады
не изменяла радости земной,
что, как роса, сияла эта радость,
угрюмо озаренная войной.

9)
О да, мы счастье страшное открыли, -
достойно не воспетое пока,

10)
И, крылья мечевидные расправив,
над нами встанет бронзовая слава,
держа венок в обугленных руках.

not praised adequately yet.

We would rush towards, holding our bayonet atilt.

having remembered it once,
We would drink around a loud table
For ballerina from the corps de ballet
Who lead us along the life.

Да что там имена!
Ведь все равно - вы с нами!..

Forget the names! Anyway - you're with us.

Живые с мертвыми: для славы мертвых нет.

In rows - alive and dead: no difference for glory.

5)
И та, что сегодня прощается с милым,-
Пусть боль свою в силу она переплавит.

And she, who bids farewell to her darling today, let her remelt her pain into strength.

О том, чтоб не прощала, не щадила,
чтоб мстила, мстила, мстила, как могу,
ко мне взывает братская могила
на охтенском, на правом берегу.

не покидали хрупких наших вышек,
лопату сжав немеющей рукой.

...didn't abandon our frail [towers] clasping a showel in the numb hand.



И не хвалюсь я тем, что в дни блокады
не изменяла радости земной,
что, как роса, сияла эта радость,
угрюмо озаренная войной.

I'm not boasing of the fact that during the blockade I had never been untrue to joys of life and this joy was shining like a dew illuminated by the war.

О да, мы счастье страшное открыли, -
достойно не воспетое пока,

Oh yes, we have discovered a dreadful happiness, which had been yet unsung.

10)
И, крылья мечевидные расправив,
над нами встанет бронзовая слава,
держа венок в обугленных руках.

And having spread its sword-like wings a bronze glory will rise above us holding a wreath in charry hands.

Anyway, that's right... they are lines from poems written by Ahmatova, Berggol'c and maybe by Erenburg...
I collected a lot of material on Russian war poetry from 1914 - 1945...
However I'd be glad to receive any other advice, or just some comment on this argument....
