    Correct или нет?

    Река продолжается через сердце территории.
The river continues through the heart of the territory.

    Thanks!

I'm afraid you can't literally translate it. Grammatically it's correct, just the word choise is not absolutely wright. You have to say: "Река протекает через самое сердце этой территории" (The river goes through the very heart of the territory). Or if you have to accentuate the fact that the river continues, you may say: "Дальше река протекает..."

In Russian we usually use this metaphor in this full form: "самое сердце" - "very heart", and I think you better translate "the" as "эта" in this case.

Well, that's the way I see it.

Лучше вообще перефразировать это предложение. Здесь лирическое "сердце" и сухое георафическое "территория" противоречат друг другу.

По-моему, нет. Дороги проходят, реки протекают.

Yes, it's true. I would say "Река протекает через самое сердце этих земель".

Would this word also be acceptable? "владает"

Река владает через самое сердце этих земель

    Впадает, not владает
    Nope, not working here.
it means that river runs to something (lake, sea, ocean). The very end of the river..

This thread remindes me of the Via-Gra and Meladse duo "Океан и три реки"

Вела меня от юга и до севера
    Дорога по неведомым краям.
Менялся мир, чего в нём только не было,
А три реки впадали в океан.

    Literally something like:
Lead me from the south to the north
The road through unknown lands (regions, territories).
The changing world, that in him only was not,
and the three rivers flowed into the ocean

    But I think it means:
The road lead me from the south to the north
    through unknown lands.
The changing world, that was not only in him
And the three rivers flowed into the ocean.
Какая разница, умереть богатым или бедным?

Какой толк от богатства если ты не счастлив.

It's declamatory, not to be translated word by word. It means something like (well, you should be able to find a better way to say it)

The world was changing, was there anything it had not seen,
but the stupid rivers kept flowing into etc.

you can leave out the "stupid" remark
I've got a TV, and I'm not afraid to use it
