Well, if you mean a musician, it's "музыкант". A singer is "певец" or "певица" - female. A composer - "композитор". Sometimes we use a word "исполнитель" - "performer" especially when it comes to a person, who plays music and sings at the same time.

If you need an additional R->E dictionary, check out a "Getting start with Russian" forum, I believe, guys have put an information there - URL's and stuff.

НЕИЗВ - like this? Looks like just a part of word to me. Could you go to www.translit.ru and print it with cyrillic letters?

Ooh, I got it! It's probably author or performer UNKNOWN: "неизв" - is a word "неизвестен"="unknown" was cuted.
