    OK, so it would seem to me that the frontrunners would be Ekat and Novosibirsk (which actually was even higher-rated before Орчухуй vouched for it, which caused it to lose points in my book). Does anyone know anything about particular programs in these cities -- preferably through some Western organization? I'm going to consult my lonely planet on these places. Thank you so much for your help guys! Please do feel free to add whatever you think will help; it is appreciated!

    i absolutely loooove kaliningrad! - im considering about doing a 'study abroad' course there at the moment....

    its not as glamorous as some of the bigger cities... but the people were all friendly and the nightlife seems quite good....
