    Do Russian appartment blocks have laundry rooms downstairs? Everywhere I've lived (Petersburg, Volgograd, Kazan') the people didn't have washing machines and washed clothes by hand.

    But my main point was, having a discussion about washer-dryers in regards to a country where a simple washing machine is not generally owned is pointless.
    Actually, I've never met people who don't have washing machine now. But still we don't have laundry rooms downstairs. in Moscow there are shops downstairs instead of laundry rooms
    Only thing that we have is dry cleaner's and usually we even don't use it often because....I don't know why Personally I take my fur coat there, that's it!

    As far as laundry rooms are concerned , I think it' s just a question of habit. we're not used to it.Anyways, I don't think they' d be in high demand in Russia
