Thread: Song Translation Help

ok heres the thing, I translated one of my favorite worship songs into Russian...but I'm not sure if the translation is as accurate as it should be or if it makes sense so I was wondering if anyone here could help me. Here are the original lyrics to the song:

The same power that conquered the grave lives in me

Your love that rescued the earth lives in me

Ok and here is what I came up with for the Russian version :

Мощность, что победил смерть живет во мне
Power that has conquered death lives in me

I think in this case is better to use word 'сила' (force) instead 'мощность'.

'Live in me', is it an imperative? Then it can be translated as 'живи во мне' (возможно, 'живи мной').

'Love who saved the Earth live in me', вероятно 'Любовь, которая спасла Землю, живущую во мне'?

I think it should be: Мощность, который победил смерть, живет во мне.

который would be used in this case since it's a subordinate clause. You could basically remove everything in between the comma's and it would be able to stand alone as its own sentence.

который could be literally translated as "which". While "that" and "which" might be interchangeable in English, I think they are mutually exclusive in Russian.

Since the words 'мощность' and 'сила' are feminine, it's necessary to use 'которая' instead 'который'.

Любовь, которая спасла Землю, живущую во мне

Любовь, которая спасла Землю, живёт во мне.
