    Getting a tattoo in Russian?

Hi everyone! So I'm terribly interested and enchanted by the Russian language--so much, I want to get a tattoo in Russian, saying this: Век живи́ — век учи́сь

It's going to be behind my ear, following the curve of the back of my ear downward.

The thing is, since the tattoo artist most likely won't have any knowledge of Russian language, I'm terrified it will get messed up! I've only seen the words in the pixelated computer-font version and obviously I want them to look a little more organic in my tattoo... Is there anyone here who can provide me with an image of the words written a little more naturally and attractively that I can bring to show the artist?

Thanks in advance. I look forward to studying this language with all of you!

ripvanfish, just download some free ornamental Russian scripts (there are plenty of them in the Net), and choose what you like best.

    For a proverb I'd recommend a medieval/oldfashioned script.

You're probably best off with the first one because almost all the letters are identical to English script forms that the tattooer will be familiar with . The "k" has no top stem, and the last letter has no counterpart. I have too many times seen foreign script mangled by unknowing people who attempt to use it somehow. Not quite the same thing, but look at what just happened with RESET/OVERLOAD fiasco. Unknowing people using a foreign language at the highest levels!

    Век живи
    -- век учись
This version has a punctuation mistake. The dash should be placed in the end of the first line, not in the beginning of the second line. Like this...

    Век живи --
    век учись
Oh, and there should be a dot in the end. A large and thick dot but it may hurt

Not a dot but a comma, because I suggested to put the other part of the proverb behind the other ear. It was deleted by Lampada.
