The same for me... I need three times hitting the button to make the text appear on the board. And then I see it is three identical messages of mine!

Rtyom, in spite of getting that error, your message is posted so you don't need to post it 3 times. Just get back to the last page of the thread, reload it and you'll see your post.

This error is just about failing to send a copy of your message to FSB which keeps a watch on this forum. Don't worry about it, they'll fix it soon.

The new Russian passports have personal info printed by computer. It is terrible! When I renewed my passport I asked them to write my name in cursive, by hand, as in old passport.

I would much rather write in block letters than cursive. I do it in english most of the time, cursive is hard to read even in English.

I would prefer the term "handwritten script" as a translation of the Russian "рукописный шрифт". "Cursive" is an ambiguous name.

I used to write in block letters ("printed script") until I attended the primary school (i.e. before I was 7 y.o. ). And then I learned the handwriting in school.
I know, the handwriting is passing out of use in some English-speaking countries (at least in the USA). But the most of Russians do prefer using the handwriting rather than the printed style.

I cannot even imagine how I would write my notes at high-school lectures in printed letters, it would take at least 3 times longer I think!

Nobody mentioned another reason to learn handwriting:
it is not only used in one's personal writing, it is sometimes used for decorative purpose on signboards, advertisement, trade marks, newspaper titles etc. I knew a foreigner who was able to read cyrillic (in printed style only), but he could not read a name of a shop if it was decorated by using handwriting.

Am I alone in thinking that handwritten Cyrillic is actually a lot nicer looking than printed Cyrillic? I generally find printed Cyrillic script quite ugly compared to, say, the Latin or Greek alphabets. (Possibly because the majiscule and miniscule forms of the letters are mostly the same... IT'S LIKE READING LATIN SCRIPT WRITTEN IN SMALL CAPS LIKE THIS...)

Когда я начала изучать русский сама по-интернету, я не знала, что почерк различается от печатаного русского! Я занималась с учительницами по-интернету а они ничего не сказали мне о том, что почерк не похож на тексты в книгах! Поэтому, я за полтора года писала как я печатаю и сейчас на сайте
Год назад, когда я решила заниматься с учительницей вживую, она попросила у меня написать что-нибудь для того, чтобы она увидела мой почерк. Как только я написала первые слова, она не могла поверить своим глазам!
В результате, слава Богу (и конечно учительнице) я сейчас могу писать более нормально. Если вы не против, как только я напишу маленькую часть текста, я сосканирую её, потом её загружу на сайт для того, чтобы вам показать и вы мне сказали свои замечания.
Я до сих пор искала по интернету, чтобы найти русский почерк а я нашла только один образец, который и загрузила недавно. Но эти два видео, на самом деле очень полезны!

Я открыла ссылки, которые вы дали раньше в этой теме и заметила, что в рукописном шрифте вы ставите знак над букву Т, т и под Ш. ш.
Разве вы его ставите для того, чтобы отличать эту букву от соседних и чтение было проще? Или это просто по косметической причине?

Вообще классические начертания вот:


Когда пишут быстро, т и ш начинают напоминать что-то вроде латинской m. Поэтому иногда ставят штрих над или под буквой. В принципе, некоторые и для красоты тоже. Для ш есть ещё причина. есть буквы ш м л и, которые, если стоят рядом, превращаются просто в набор одинаковых штрихов, если написано небрежно, поэтому ш в таких случаях тоже подчёркивают.
