The Babylonia school was merely an example of alternative language teaching, if there would be such an alternative in RUssia that would be perfect. I've thought it all over however and come to the conclusion that I don't really need to do ordinary school lessons in Russia - just to get in contact with russians and some good grammar books should be sufficient.
Nort2North is a exchange program for universities around the Polar Circle. Via N2N you can go to universities in Murmansk, Surgut, Syvtykar and Yakutsk, among those the only OK alternative for me would be Surgut or Murmansk, which are reasonably close to the rest of the world (from my perspective at least).
I've registered a user at unilang and will do so at vkontakte.ru as well, its a great idea to have some russian on the ICQ/MSN available for chat.
Your post got me thinking about why i'm going, and its of course because of the language at firsthand, but also to participate in russian society as much as possible. I found a orphanage in Kaliningrad where I can go and help out, and in return will be able to practise russian 24/7.
