    Airport near Beslan

    Hi,

I'm thinking about going to Russia sometime.
But I want to go to Beslan and I've heard that there's no airport there, right?
    So. I was thinking.
Is there anyone in here, who knows a airport in a city not to fare from Beslan?

    Thanks.

    Regards,
    Tenna.

    Why?

Possible the nearest airport is in Georgia.
I'm sure your government advises against going to that region anyway. I'd only go if you really know what you are doing.

mineralniye vody airport maybe? If you are going to these places, its only a 1.5-2 day train ride from st petersburg or moscow anyway and then like a 5-6 hour bus ride from a number of cties (kislovodsk, pyatigorsk, or maybe nevinommysk? Besides, why bother getting a plane ticket when you can ride the train for like 50 bucks down there. Do you know someone in Beslan? Are you a journalist, or just want to go there. If you dont know someone in the area, it may not be the best idea going there. If you want to go to the Caucasus, id suggest looking at areas further west and just go to Dombai or Elbrus instead

    Wow. Thank you very much
    That helped alot Thank you.

And about that tragedy in Beslan. I know someone, who lost
two of his friend that day
    It was extremely sad
And all my thoughts are going to people, like my friend, who lost parents or children that day.

    Hiya,

I've been looking at Domodedovo's website, and I've been trying to find some prices for their flights.. but.. without any luck.
Could someone help me finding a price for a flight from Domodedovo to Vladikavkaz (beslan)

    Thanks!

This is highly unusual. If you do know someone, why this someone doesn't take care of your adventure trip? And if you dont, how well do you think you can blend in?

Is yankee-imperialist spy, Tovarish Adoc. Is obvious that she wants to spy on Russian grade-school program. Are devloping super-duper nuclear chalk-board there.

All kidding aside, all these other people are probably right. You probably shouldn't go there in the first place, but if you do you should take the train.
Заранее благодарю всех за исправление ошибок в моём русском.

Domodedovo isn't an airline. It's an airport. You fly by an airline.

    E.g. Aeroflot

    www.aeroflot.com

When you look for a flight, you don't log on to an airport's website.

That sort so highlights to me, that you are a novice traveler and haven't got a clue what you're doing.

The British Foreign & Commonwealth Office Travel Advice advices against ALL travel to the region:

And advice against All about ESSENTIAL travel to North Ossetia.

So it's almost a year since your decision. Did you go there, Tenna?

Rtyom, she only wrote this today. And since she is trying to book flights on the website of an airPORT, she won't be going for a long time.

The first post is of May, 25, 2005. Thus, I wonder what she has been doing all this time. Maybe Tenna has been procrastinating.

I don't see why Tenna shouldn't go to Beslan. The tragedy happened a long time ago and going to Beslan appears to be as dangerous as going to any other place near Chechnya and Dagestan. Furthemore, Tenna said that she knows someone who lost two friends in Beslan. I think that going to Beslan amounts to going to, for example, Volgograd with the view to commemorating the people who died during the siege.

It's inconsistency in your comparison of Volgograd and Beslan, though.

You might be right. I meant to say that lots of people still visit Volgograd to commemorate those who died in the battle. So, why shouldn't people go to Beslan to commemorate those who've died? Especially if they want to? I agree that the scale of the two calamities is different and ought not to be compared. However, my comparison is, imo, a very good example when it comes to explaining that there might be a good reason for going to Beslan.

Beslan happened less than 2 years ago. Volgograd happened 60 years ago. I doubt a place still in mourning, and the mothers and fathers will appreciate Westerners fulfilling their morbid curiosities.
