    Is it a word-play?

Could you tell me, please, what do you think about the name of Subversion (link, wikipedia link). Do native speakers take it as a word-play?

Thank you. I doubted because I was told they (I mean you) do perceive it just as compound word like subdirectory and don't think the meaning from dictionaries is relevant.

Well, I guess it depends on who you talk to. In computer terms, I haven't heard much of subversion, so I thought immediately of the dictionary definition. But the link showed me something else, and it is obviously a word-play. However, I really don't think subdirectory is word-play!
