between:

2 phrase: style shaving

are these the same thing?

"style shaving" wouldn't be on its own
it would have to be "x style shaving" where x specifies what style it is

it depends on the context; articles in general depend on context

Shaving style is important for one's image.
The shaving style seen in this picture is terribly outdated.
You should pick a shaving style and stick with it.
