No, actually word «Ворота» is plural form (like «gates»; perhaps because gates always have two parts—left and right). It is not feminine singular. Plural forms of words do not change in Accusative case while feminine forms get «-у» or «-ю».

We also have an expression "от ворот поворот" that means to turn smb down. It's rather informal.
Я пробовал устроится на эту работу, но получил от ворот поворот (получил отказ).
I applied for that job but they turned me down.
Я сделал Анне предложение, но она дала мне от ворот поворот (она мне отказала). -
I proposed to Anna but she turned me down.

There's also another expression with "ворота" – "Это (уже) ни в какие ворота не лезет"
Они опять подняли налоги. Это уже ни в какие ворота не лезет. (The speaker is annoyed with the raise of the taxes, he thinks that's too much) -
They've raised the taxes again. That's really too much.
Мы конечно знали, что она не ангел, но это уже ни в какие ворота не лезет. (She did something that was not expected even from her)
