This book culls the best of Chekov's letters (I think over 4000 exist) and presents them in chronological order. Although he doesn't reveal alot about himself directly, you can get a feel for what Chekov was like by reading his correspondance. This book brings to light info that was previously suppressed and even to this day not available in Russian sources because Chekov is viewed as kind of a saint, with no imperfections or interest in the opposite sex.
