    English equivalents of Вениамин

We are considering Вениамин as a probable name for our child. English equivalent would be Benjamin and this is not exactly to our liking, especially it's short form "Ben". Are there any other possible equivalents or derivatives?

What about Benji/Benjy? This isn't nearly as common, but it's not unheard of either. One possible issue: A Disney movie about a dog named Benji may be a bit of a turn-off. http://www.benji.com/JoeCamp/FilmDirector.htm

    There's also Benson.

All of these have the -Ben stem, so I don't know how you feel about that. If you are looking for something derived from Western European language, you might simply try google searching for "baby names" and you'll get a ton of hits.

    Hope this helps.
Заранее благодарю всех за исправление ошибок в моём русском.
