Thread: Я Declension - Simple Sentence Question

Hi, guys. I have a question about declension.

"Она стояла со мной" means "She stood with me", and мной is in the instrumental case, so referring to the means of doing something (by/with).

So, if I were to say "She stood by me", what would I write? Would I just change it to "Она стояла мной"?

Hmm, that depends on what you actually mean Stand by someone as in support someone or stand by someone as in stand near someone? Anyway,

if the latter: Она стояла рядом со мной
if the former: Она поддержала меня (в трудную минуту)
